Can you answer these 22 questions?

 

Before I begin, I just want to say to you kids that these questions are not an attempt to disparage anyone’s beliefs. They are simply the questions rolling around in my head for which I have been unable to answer. Maybe you can. If so, leave a comment below. No snarkiness please.

  1. If the universe began with a big bang, where did the thing that banged came from?
  2. If the universe began with a big bang and there is no such thing as space, into what did the thing that banged reside?
  3. If God created Adam and Eve and incest is a sin, where did all the people come from?
  4. How can anyone who considers herself a Christian endorse capital punishment? The eye for an eye concept is Old Testament. Turn the other cheek is the Christian way.
  5. Can humanity survive in the future?
  6. Is a virus a living entity or simply a biochemical particle?
  7. Is it possible that viruses account for the diversity of species on Earth and possibly elsewhere?
  8. Where did the Y chromosome come from in the virgin birth of Jesus? I accept that some of you will say that God put it there, but God is organized and doesn’t appear to operate that way?
  9. Are aliens really visiting our planet or are they simply a reality created by individual humans?
  10. What is dark matter?
  11. Can humanity evolve beyond its animal nature?
  12. Would the world be a more peaceful place if it was matriarchal?
  13. How are creatures with small brains, such as crows, able to problem solve and use tools?
  14. How will global warming effect human migratory patterns?
  15. What are the odds that global warming and the resulting changes in weather patterns create another ice age in parts of the planet?
  16. How much damage do smart phones have on a human’s ability to interact with other humans face to face?
  17. Will virtual play rooms be the new addiction of the future?
  18. Why do some governments not see the benefit to a country in having a well-educated population?
  19. What will the future look like as more and more jobs are displaced by technology?
  20. Why do colors and music influence the way we feel?
  21. What are the gene sequences that impact our emotional traits?
  22. When will humans ever learn that it is impossible to legislate morality?

That’s it for now. I’ve got dozens more, but these questions among others convince me that the older I get the less I know.

What I do know is that I love my kids and you are all my kids.
